Lamborghini Also Built an Incredible Boat with Two 4.0L V12s

Ferruccio Lamborghini not only founded one of the greatest automakers in the world, he also had a thing for speed on water. So when he decided to build himself a speed boat 45 years ago, there was only one way to power it: with two 4.0-liter V12 engines from the 350 GT. The fastest Riva Aquarama in the world has recently been restored by a Dutch specialist who brought it back to original condition. After Lamborghini died in 1993, no one actually knew the location of the Riva Aquarama, but its existence was known.





It was finally tracked down by a Riva collector and the restoration begun shortly thereafter. It took a total of three years to complete, which included repairing the wooden interior, reupholstered seats, and all buttons and switches were disassembled, repaired and reinstalled. All of that chrome was also given attention along with repairing the hull. The original V12s are no longer installed, and one of them is actually on display at the Lamborghini museum. In their place are two other identical Lamborghini V12s that have many original parts, and each one produces 350 horsepower. Top speed is 48 knots (55 mph). No word yet whether or when the Riva Aquarama will be up for sale.
