Audi je predstavio javnosti novi R18 e-Tron hybrid quattro za Le Mans. Dizel-hibridni V6 TDI agregat na zadnje točkove izbacuje 510 KS. Energija iz baterija može da se upotrebljava do brzine od 120km/h, a punjenje istih se vrši preko sistema za regenerativno kočenje, smeštenog na prednjoj osovini.

Dodge and SRT Motorsports have confirmed they will be entering the Global RallyCross Championships using a modified version of the new Dodge Dart. A rendering of what the model is likely to look like has also been released adding substance to the anticipation ahead of the first race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26th.

The 2013 Dodge Dart rally car is due to be piloted by Travis Pastrana who is four-time Rally America Champion. It will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that generates 600hp (447kW / 608 PS) and 745Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque and is mated with a Sedav 4-wheel drive gear box.

The body work will also receive a bunch of upgrades whilst the interior will be stripped of all unnecessary comfort features. It results in a kerb weight well below the 1,456kg (3,211lb) that its production version is rated at.

"The sport is extremely exciting and the on-track action can be brutal on the drivers and the cars," said Bailey. "The cars are jumping higher than ever and landing safely", commented Reid Bigland, President and CEO - Dodge Brand. "The Dart rally car is lightweight with a very powerful motor. The zero to 60 mile-per-hour times are incredible, as low as 1.9 seconds, so with Travis behind the wheel, we can't wait for the season opener."

Ovaj Dart mi nešto ne deluje ubedljivo. Ja nešto i nešto i ne znam za ovaj GRC. To je kao neki pandan WRC-u?

BMW SA shows off a F30 335i race car

BMW South Africa, in collaboration with ADF Motorsport, has unveiled an F30 BMW 335i racing car, which will compete in the SA Production Car championship in 2012. According to the company, this is the first F30 3 Series racing car in the world and it will debut at Wesbank Super Series race meeting at Killarney in Cape Town on March 31st.

ADF Motorsport was responsible for the development of the car which will have behind the wheel the 2010 Production Car Champion Anthony Taylor and Etienne van der Lindec.

Team principal Donovan van Heerden said it took the team less than two months to build the first race car, at a cost of R2 million or $260,000 US dollars.

The F30 335i racer weighs just over 1360 kg and is powered by the N55 TwinPower turbocharged engine.

No power upgrade was given to the 335i due to the SA Production car regulations which stipulate a 40mm restrictor plate on the turbo inlet and no more than 0.7 bar of boost. However, thanks to a modified engine management system, exhaust and turbocharger have been, it still delivers more than 300kW and 600Nm of torque.

To keep the weight in check, ADF Motorsport used plenty of carbon-fiber parts from BMW’s new M Performance aftermarket catalogue, including 370mm M Performance front disk brakes, 18” BBS rims and a very authoritative Akrapovic exhaust system.

Lancia, the brand's most successful rallies in history, with 11 world titles, announced his return to the Championship FIA World Rally for the 2014-2015 season.

It will initiate Ypsilon HF, only model currently in production that matches the current regulations. The Ypsilon HF will thus compete with the Citroen DS3, Mini WRC and especially VW Polo R currently in development.

According to our information, Lancia Ypsilon would develop the HF for a few weeks. Recall that the current Ypsilon has 5 doors and it is based on the platform of the New Fiat Panda which is known to exist 4 × 4 version. There is therefore no problem to install a drive system in the Ypsilon.

Toyota za 2013. godinu najavila WRC verziju Yarisa

Toyota bi se iduće godine mogla vratiti u Svjetsko prvenstvo u rallyju. Potvrđeno je da se razvija Global Race Engine, odnosno 1.6-litreni turbo benzinac po aktualnim WRC propisima, a u novi WRC automobil bio bi pretvoren aktualni Yaris.

U središtu Toyota Motorsporta u Kolnu već testiraju Global Race Engine, motor koji bi se koristio širom svijeta u raznim natjecateljskom serijama, a između ostalog i stvorena bi bila i nova WRC Toyota. Baza za WRC automobil bit će najvjerojatnije aktualni Yaris, jer već postoji trkaća R1 verzija.

Iz Toyote su potvrdili da su u ranoj fazi razvoja motora, a postavljanje motora u neki automobil ne očekuje se tek krajem ove godine. Najprije će biti napravljen automobil po S2000 specifikacijama, jer za takve automobile postoji interes kupaca, a konačni cilj je povratak u WRC. Potvrđeno je da se Yaris čini kao najlogičniji izbor za novi trkaći automobil.

Toyota je jedna od marki koje su u prošlosti obilježile Svjetsko prvenstvo u rallyju, jer su osvojili sedam naslova prvaka svijeta. Triput su bili momčadski prvaci (1993., 1994. i 1999.), a vozačke titule s Toyotom su osvajali Carlos Sainz 1990. i 1992., Juha Kankkunen 1993. i Didier Auriol 1994. godine.

Hyundai back in the WRC?

News and follow not the same for the WRC. After the announcement of the end of the patronage of Nokia , a blow to the rally world, the rumor from Germany via Auto Motor und Sport gave a new manufacturer involved next season, Hyundai.

According to the German magazine, generally well informed, the Korean manufacturer has finally decided to do it again after a first timid attempt in the early 2000s. The frame chosen is not the Veloster, engaged in road events in the U.S. but not approvable for the WRC, but the i20, direct competitor of the other actresses in the category: DS3, Fiesta, Polo ...

The car is already being built in Germany in Frankfurt, the European based manufacturer. V8 Supercars set to confirm Mercedes-AMG entry

The Mercedes-Benz star will be the fourth badge in next year's V8 Supercar championship, joining Ford, Holden and Nissan for the 2013 season.

Privately-owned Erebus Motorsport will field a three-car team, following a merger with V8 Supercar team Stone Brothers Racing (SBR).

Currently aligned with Ford, SBR also carries two of the necessary Racing Entitlements Contracts (RECs) to enter the championship, while a third REC is leased.


This new V8 Supercar will carry the appearance of the E-Class large sedan, but will use the new V8 Supercars Car of The Future (COTF) control chassis, with a production-based 5.0 litre AMG V8 engine.

“There has been much speculation over what Erebus Motorsport, AMG and Mercedes-Benz were doing in relation to the Car of the Future - and we haven’t been in a position to say anything about this until right now,” Erebus CEO Ryan Maddison said today.

The team plans to have the three cars ready for the 2013 season-opening Clipsal 500 round in March, with development of the new engine already well underway.

SBR has been charged with the construction of the cars’ COTF chassis, and the first example is due for track testing wearing Ford bodywork in the coming weeks.




Unlike Nissan’s 2013 entry into the V8 Supercar championship, the Mercedes-Benz cars will carry no direct link to the manufacturer, with the only official relationship being Erebus’ ongoing ties with the AMG Customer Sports program and the HWA AMG DTM team.

To date, this relationship has seen Erebus Motorsport field two SLS AMG GT3 models in the Australian GT Championship, with Erebus driver Peter Hackett currently leading the 2012 series.

Mercedes-Benz Australia’s David McCarthy has reaffirmed Erebus’ status as a customer of the brand, with equipment and technology being purchased by Erebus, rather than a ‘works’ sponsorship agreement.

“We are not directly involved and we have no plans to undertake any sales or marketing activities in conjunction with this effort," McCarthy said in a statement.

"There is no Mercedes-Benz or AMG money inherent in this new entry, the entire project is funded by Erebus Motorsport."

Erebus’ new relationship with SBR has been facilitated by the expiry of SBR’s current contract with Ford at the end of the year - ending a 14-year partnership with the Blue Oval.

“Leaving Ford was not an easy thing to do, but as car markets change here in Australia I felt the time was right for a new challenge and with Ford’s mutual agreement we have decided to part ways”, SBR boss Ross Stone said in a statement.

Iskreno, ja ocekujem Peugeot da se vrati u WRC i LeMans. U S2000 su ostali konstantni...

Drago mi je da sve vise proizvodjaca oce u WRC :doubleup: Ali nazalost, to nikada nece biti B grupa...

Citroën's all-conquering rally team is facing reduced budgets

Citroën boss Frederic Banzet has hailed the positive effect of the firm’s involvement in the World Rally Championship – but cautioned that it must find a way to reduce its budget in the face of falling road car sales in Europe.

Citroën has won seven manufacturers’ championships since 2003, while star driver Sebastien Loeb has scooped eight championships and is on the brink of a ninth, making them the dominant forces in the series in recent years.

“Look where Citroën was a decade ago – almost gone,” said Banzet. “The lead force in that transformation has been product, but the World Rally Championship program has contributed a lot too, inspiring the company from within and transforming its image among the outside world.

“Competing and winning in these extreme conditions sends a proud message, particularly when it has been achieved in a journey with Sebastien Loeb, who has developed with us into the standard bearer for all drivers.”

Banzet admitted growing concern at the absence of a championship promoter in the WRC, but expressed hope that a mooted deal with Red Bull Communications would go ahead. He added that Citroën has no set timescale for remaining in the sport.

“We need a promoter with vision and money to invest – they appear able to do that,” he said. “But in the meantime we must investigate ways of reducing budgets in line with the coverage we get and against the backdrop of sales.”

Banzet expressed hope that the arrival of VW in the WRC next year would not push costs up. “They may arrive with a bigger budget, but we have experience and knowledge. Hopefully that is enough to keep us competitive.”

Suzuka, Japan, October 18th 2012 - Honda Racing Team JAS makes its debut in the FIA WTCC this week with a historic race at the Suzuka Circuit, Japan. Honda will enter one car - the Civic WTCC, powered by a bespoke 1.6 litre 4 cylinder direct injection turbo-charged petrol engine - driven by Portuguese driver Tiago Monteiro. Both car and team are fully prepared for the race, having completed testing in Europe this summer and at Sugo circuit in Japan earlier this week.

In addition to this being the debut of a Honda works team in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, the race at Suzuka is particularly special for the team as it marks two important milestones: the 50th anniversary of Suzuka Circuit, which was designed by Honda's founder, Soichiro Honda; and the 40th anniversary of the Civic.

Commenting on the race, Daisuke Horiuchi, the WTCC Development Project Leader at Honda R&D said:

"The entire team has been preparing for Suzuka ever since we announced our entry into the WTCC in February. It has obviously been a huge challenge, but we're here and we're ready.

"Part of the drive to get the car and team ready for these last three races of the 2012 WTCC calendar is that this race in Suzuka is so important to Honda. In 1962 our visionary founder Soichiro Honda designed this circuit - the very first racing circuit in Asia - so we were very motivated to make it here and be able to celebrate the 50th anniversary with our many fans and associates around the World.

"2012 is also the 40th anniversary of the Civic, so we couldn't think of a better way to mark this important milestone than to see the latest European Civic compete at the highest level in the WTCC.

"With these celebrations, this race at Suzuka will certainly be full of emotion for us. And whilst this is the Civic debut in the 2012 championship, with full entry only starting in 2013, I'm sure Tiago and the whole team will put in a performance fit for the occasion."

Tiago Monteiro added: "After testing in Vallelunga, Slovakia Ring and Portimao this summer, as well as at Sugo last week, my motivation has never been higher. And now that we are only a few hours from the start of the event, I can feel the passion and excitement of the Honda fans building up.

"When you think about the amount of work that everyone at Honda and JAS has put in to get us here, I fully appreciate what a privilege it is to be the one behind the wheel. . . it is a very special moment, it really is!"

The road to Suzuka began in February this year when Honda confirmed its entry in the WTCC from 2013 onwards, with a two car works team driven by Italian Gabriele Tarquini and Portuguese Tiago Monteiro.

Starting at Suzuka this week, Honda is also entering the last three races of the 2012 FIA World Touring Car Championship with one car, driven by Monteiro. All of the 2012 testing and race results will be used to ready the Civic WTCC for full entry in 2013.

J.A.S. Motorsport, Honda's long term racing partner, has developed the European Honda Civic 5-door for the WTCC, whilst Honda R&D has created the race car's brand new 1.6 litre petrol engine (the HR412E). Mugen will manufacture the engines and provide trackside support to the team from 2013 season onwards.
