Inače kupio sam i 45W punjač.

THE MAJORITY OF YOUNG USERS BELIEVE THAT USING ANDROID IS SHAMEFUL
https://www.gizchina.com/2023/02/22/the ... -shameful/
The Financial Times recently conducted an investigation that revealed a surprising trend among young Americans born between 1996 and 2012, also known as Gen Z. According to the report, a vast majority of Gen Z users, who are considered the most diverse and inclusive generation in history, account for 34% of all iPhone users in the United States. This statistic is quite significant, given that Samsung, the brand that sells the most Android smartphones in the world, only accounts for 10% of the sales among this group.
The report suggests that many young consumers fear being ostracized for not having an iPhone. The closed ecosystem of Apple’s operating system is cited as the primary reason for this fear. Specifically, many of the interviewed iPhone users stated that iMessage is one of the main reasons they use an iPhone. This messaging service discriminates against Android users by displaying their messages in green bubbles instead of blue. Which can be quite embarrassing for some users.
As a result, many young people are opting for an iPhone over an Android device to avoid the stigma associated with “green bubbles.” Moreover, several campaigns have been launched by Google to urge Apple to make iMessage compatible with third-party messaging protocols, such as the RCS standard. However, Apple has yet to address this issue.
Interestingly, the report also indicates that iPhone users are more likely to buy other Apple devices. Such as MacBooks, Apple Watches, and AirPods. For every 100 iPhones sold globally, Apple sells 26 iPads, 17 Apple Watches, and 35 pairs of AirPods. In contrast, Samsung only sells 11 Galaxy Tabs, 6 Galaxy Watches, and 6 Galaxy Buds for every Samsung Galaxy sold.
The trend is not limited to the United States. A consulting firm specializing in market analysis, Canalys, found that 83% of iPhone users in Europe under the age of 25 plan to continue using Apple smartphones. In contrast, less than half of Android users plan to continue using Android devices.
The report highlights the surprising influence that Apple’s operating system has on young people, who are considered the most diverse and inclusive generation in history. The fear of being ostracized for not having an iPhone is leading many young people to opt for Apple devices over Android devices. This trend is not limited to the United States but is also prevalent in Europe. Moreover, the report suggests that the closed ecosystem of Apple’s operating system is driving the sales of other Apple devices. Such as MacBooks, Apple Watches, and AirPods.
As technology continues to advance, the debate between iPhone and Android users is still ongoing. However, for the younger generation, also known as Gen Z, the preference for iPhone over Android seems to be the norm.

According to a 2021 survey conducted by Piper Sandler, 88% of American teenagers currently own an iPhone, with only 10% owning an Android device. This statistic is an increase from the previous year, where 85% of teenagers owned an iPhone. The trend is also seen globally. Where in countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, the majority of teenagers own an iPhone.
So why does Gen Z prefer iPhones over Android devices? Here are some reasons:
Brand Loyalty: Apple has been successful in building brand loyalty with its users, especially with its younger audience. The iPhone is not just a device, it is a lifestyle. Apple has built a culture around its products, making it cool and trendy to own an iPhone.
Ecosystem Integration: Apple’s ecosystem, including iCloud, iMessage, and AirDrop, allows for seamless integration between devices. This integration makes it easier for users to share and access files across all their devices. Additionally, the App Store offers a wide range of high-quality apps that are only available on iOS.
Security: iPhones are known for their security features, making them less prone to hacking and malware attacks. For Gen Z, who are often more aware of the dangers of the internet, having a device that prioritizes their security is essential.
Social Media: Social media is a huge part of Gen Z’s daily lives. And many social media influencers and celebrities use iPhones, making it aspirational for many. Additionally, social media apps like TikTok and Snapchat are often optimized for iOS. Providing a better user experience on an iPhone.
Aesthetic Appeal: The design and aesthetics of an iPhone are often seen as sleek, sophisticated, and modern, appealing to Gen Z’s desire for stylish and trendy technology.
While these reasons are not exclusive to Gen Z, they are more pronounced for this age group. Apple has done an excellent job of creating a brand that is attractive to the younger generation. And their preference for iPhones over Android devices is a testament to this.
While it is difficult to make a blanket statement about an entire generation’s preferences. Some other surveys also suggest that Generation Z does show a preference for iPhones over Android devices.
For example, a survey conducted by Business Insider in 2020 found that 63% of Gen Z respondents reported owning an iPhone. While only 29% owned an Android device.
However, it’s worth noting that these surveys may not be representative of all Gen Zers. And individual preferences can vary widely. Additionally, factors such as income, geography, and cultural influences may play a role in shaping technology preferences.
In conclusion, the preference for iPhone over Android among Gen Z is not just a matter of personal preference. It is a combination of brand loyalty, ecosystem integration, security, social media, and aesthetic appeal that has made the iPhone the preferred choice for this age group.
