Ferrari: Record-quarter profits, with production sold out until end of 2025

In the third quarter of 2023, Ferrari saw deliveries of its hybrid models account for 51% of the total, up from 43% in the previous quarter, while in the third quarter of 2022 this figure was 19%. Today Ferrari sells 4 hybrid models, the SF90 Stradale, SF90 Spider, 296 GTB and 296 GTS.

This trend, however, is expected to decrease in the current quarter due to increased production of Purosangue , which is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine.

Orders totaled 3,459 units in the previous quarter, up 8.5% -271 units - compared to the corresponding period a year earlier. Adjusted net profit, however, increased by 45.7% to 332 million euros, while turnover reached 1.54 billion euros.

For the entire year, the management of the company expects that the revenues will reach 5.9 billion euros. The company expects adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of at least 2.25 billion euros at the end of the year, up from a previous estimate of up to 2.22 billion euros.

Most orders were for the 296 and SF90 models, while the F8 Spider is nearing the end of its life cycle, according to the Italian company. Sales of the 812 Competizione A and Purosangue models were in the starting phase in the 3rd quarter, while those of the Daytona SP3 developed as planned.

The Maranello-based automaker will continue to offer a mix of internal combustion and hybrid-powered cars in the coming years. The successor to the 812 is expected to retain the V12 engine, but reports want the LaFerrari replacement not to, and when launched in 2024 it will sport either a V8 or V6 engine.

In the third quarter Ferrari saw its car deliveries increase by 8% in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region to 1,291 units, while in the US they increased by 21% to 1,096 units. In the China, Hong Kong and Taiwan region they decreased by 8% to 395 units, while in the Asia-Pacific region they increased by 2% to 570 units.

Currently, the Purosangue is the only V12-powered Ferrari available, with the model getting a plug-in hybrid version later in the decade.

As for the first electric Ferrari , it will be presented in 2025. The company aims for 80% of its sales to consist of hybrid and electric models by 2030.

Ferrari has been able to raise prices on some of its models as long as its customers are not feeling any pressure on their incomes from soaring inflation and interest rate hikes from central banks.

The order book remains at high levels, reflecting strong demand across all geographies, and orders cover all of 2025; said the company's CEO Benedetto Vigna.
