Under the hammer 20 Ferraris found in a warehouse
In August, on the sidelines of this year's Pebble Beach in California, RM Sotheby's will put up for sale 20 Ferraris found as a result of Hurricane Charlie, which hit Florida in 2004 and caused significant damage to the warehouse where they were parked. Since then, the cars have been in a warehouse in Indianapolis.
Some of the cars are in excellent condition, while others are almost destroyed. Among them are racing models, such as the 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Speciale that once belonged to Mohammed V of Morocco.
Also of note is the 1978 Ferrari 512 BB Competizione, which competed in the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 1954 500 Mondial Spider Series I which competed in the Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and Imola Grand Prix races.
In detail, the cars that will be auctioned are as follows, with RM Sotheby's estimating that in total they will sell for more than 15 million dollars.
