Fiat announced the recall of 14,534 500e worldwide . The cause is software errors in the airbag control unit that may cause the passenger airbag deactivation status to be incorrectly displayed.
As a result, placing a child seat facing backwards increases the risk of injury in the event of an accident.
The Fiat 500e affected by this recall were manufactured between 8 September 2020 and 26 January 2021.
