Honda Civic Type R sports hatchback based on the European market model that is currently undergoing development for an introduction in 2015.

Honda said that this model is designed specifically for the European market, though we could see it being exported to Japan at some point. More importantly, the Japanese carmaker's CEO stated that the Type R is being developed "with the goal of becoming the fastest front-wheel-drive vehicle on the Nürburgring race course".

Ma ništa bitno na polju performansi, u USA je stigao novi Accord, a nama (tj. evropi) stiže novi Jazz sledeće godine kao i FuelCell vozilo (ovo tek 2015.)
I još nekih "sitnica" bitnih za Japan i Azijsko tržište.

The Civic Type R will get a brand-new 250bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine when it arrives in 2015

The new Honda Civic Type R will feature a brand-new 1.6-litre turbocharged, direct-injection engine with more than 250bhp when it arrives in 2015, an inside source has revealed.

Honda also has an eight-speed duel clutch automatic transmission under development, which could be offered in the new hot hatch.

At the Paris Motor Show last month, Honda CEO Takanobu Ito confirmed that the Civic Type R would go on sale in 2015, but refused to elaborate on the details.

He did however confirm that his aim was to make the new Type R the fastest front-wheel-drive model ever around the Nurburgring – a record currently held by the Renaultsport Megane 265 Trophy in eight minutes and eight seconds.

To achieve that the car will need to weigh less than 1,200kg and have a power figure of more than 250bhp, we’ve been told. The engine should have no problem achieving that level of power output - following Gordon Shedden’s victory in the 2012 BTCC Championship driving a Civic, a tuned version will undergo testing next year in Honda’s BTCC car.

Just like the new 247bhp Ford Focus ST, there's no plans to build a three-door Type R, although our source refused to rule out a Type R version of the Civic estate – a new bodystyle that will debut in concept form sometime next year.

2015 Honda Civic Type-R to get a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 300 hp

Yasuhisa Arai from Honda's R&D center has confirmed that the 2015 Civic Type-R will get a 2.0-liter turbo engine with up to 300 hp (224 kW).

While a previous report was indicating that the next-gen Civic Type-R will feature a 1.6-liter turbo engine with 250 hp (186 kW), the Japanese brand has now confirmed that it will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo with as much as 300 hp (224 kW). Honda wants the new model to be more powerful and quicker on the Nürburgring than the Renaultsport Megane 265.

Set for a 2015 launch, the new Civic Type-R is expected to get a mechanical limited slip differential and possibly rear-wheel steering. Honda presented its Precision All-Wheel steer during an event in Japan, a system that increases speed during cornering and turns the rear wheels inwards a little bit while under hard stopping to avoid weaving around.

Honda’s UK division wants a starting price of 25,000 GBP, but it’s not certain if they will be able to pull this off.
