Recently, we have reported that the Indo-Japanese carmaker is considering the 5-door Jimny SUV for the Indian market. The Maruti Jimny 5-door (codenamed YWD) is reported to hit our shores by July 2022. According to a fresh media report, the company might also introduce the Jimny 3-door version the second half of 2021

While its 5-door version will be more practical for day-to-day commuting purposes, the 3-door will be introduced as a lifestyle product to serve a niche segment. The carmaker showcased the fourth-generation, 3-door Jimny at the last year’s Auto Expo.

Unlike the global version that comes with three doors, Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch Jimny’s Indian model with five doors. The plan of Maruti Suzuki here appears to offer a family SUV well suited among Indians. The car was recently seen testing in Europe.

Moreover, the upcoming car is said to be 300 mm longer than its global version, making the vehicle heavier by 100 Kg. However, the height, width, and ground clearance of both the versions remain same.

Jimny is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol engine that generates a power of 102PS and a torque of 130Nm.

Moreover, speculations are that the Indian model could house a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that comes with features such as Android Auto and Apple Carplay. You might also enjoy features like automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors with a camera, and hill assist control.

Pre neki dan smo u Auto Sumaru bili da gledamo Vitaru, spazim napolju parkiran Jimny. Zagledamo ga malo i pitam prodavačicu o iskustvima, kaže o jadu se zabavili kupovali ga ljudi kao gradsku varijantu za žene, a on spor i sa zvučnom izolacijom maltene u minusu, dolaze posle da pitaju kako to da reše ali da izgleda unikatno, tu nema zbora.
