Polestar and fast-charging battery pioneer StoreDot successfully demonstrated StoreDot's Extremely Fast Charging (XFC) technology for the first time: a Polestar 5 prototype was charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 10 minutes. The working prototype showed constant charging power, starting at 310 kW and reaching a maximum value of over 370 kW at the end of the charging process.

The specially ordered 77 kWh battery, potentially expandable to at least 100 kWh, could in the future increase the range of a mid-sized electric vehicle by 320 kilometers in 10 minutes.

It is available in Dual Motor and Performance variants, with an output of 748 and 884 hp respectively.

It features a 112 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery that allows it to offer a combined WLTP range of 670 km in the Dual Motor version and 565 km in the Performance version.
