Armored Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 revealed by Dartz with 1,019 PS
Costs 2.4M EUR
Latvian-tuner Dartz has unveiled an armored version of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6.
When Mercedes-Benz introduced the ludicrous G63 AMG 6x6 last year many people thought there wasn't a way the six-wheeled behemoth could be transformed into something more spectacular. However, several months later Brabus came out with the B63S which bumped output by 156 PS & 200 Nm to 700 PS & 960 Nm and also came with a matching more aggressive body.
Now, Dartz has prepared something even more mindboggling, the DrIvE HARD 6x6, billed as the "world's first funky armored car." If the design seems familiar, that's because Dartz got its inspiration from the Cougar 6x6 MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) which was featured in the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise launched last year.
Dartz hasn't said anything about the car's weight now that is has armor plating but taking into account the standard version weighs 3,850 kg (8,487 lbs), this one probably tips the scales at around 5,000 kg (11,023 lbs).
Besides the added armored protection, the Latvian tuner also increased output of the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 to no less than 1,019 PS (749 kW) and more than 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.
Dartz wants 2.4M EUR for the armored version and 1.5M EUR for an unarmored variant. The company plans other custom G63 6x6s with themes such as Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones.
