Renault to launch Juke rival
Renault is set to launch a rebadged and restyled version of the Nissan Juke

The dead wood is being chopped out of Renault’s range, and it’s making way for exciting new models, led by this version of the Nissan Juke. As our exclusive images show, the car is inspired by the Captur concept from the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. It’s come about thanks to Renault’s alliance with Nissan.

Following last year’s axing of the slow-selling Koleos crossover – only 3,000 models found homes in the UK – and the paring down of its current range, Renault is looking to appeal to a new set of customers, just as Nissan has done with the Juke.

These illustrations give the best idea yet of how the new model will look, ahead of its debut early next year. As you can see, it’s an attractive car, with all the chunky cues you’d expect of a crossover, mixed with the Captur’s curvy shape. At the front, Renault’s latest wide grille has the familiar diamond badge at its centre.

Like the Juke, the new model will be available with four-wheel drive in flagship form, but the vast majority of cars sold will be front-wheel drive. Expect the new SUV to share its engines with the Juke, too, including the top-of-the-range 1.6-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbodiesel.

The Juke-sized car is just one of three Renault SUVs on the way. The company is planning a new mid-sized model, based on the next-generation Nissan Qashqai, and an even larger car based on the upcoming Nissan X-Trail replacement. The latter was previewed at the recent Geneva Motor Show by the Hi-Cross concept.

Renault isn’t the only maker keen to expand its SUV line-up. Peugeot has prioritised a 208-based SUV, to be named 2008, over development of the hot GTI and CC cabrio versions of the car. Audi is also set to build on the success of the Q3 by launching its smallest crossover ever: an A1-based model called the Q1.

Plus, Mercedes has confirmed an A-Class-based 4x4, while Land Rover and Lexus have hinted at forthcoming smaller SUVs.

Ovaj dizajn mi je puno bolji od Nisanovog. Dobro je što zadnje kvake nisu skrivene kao kod Nisana gde su baš previsoko postavljene, pogotovo za niže osobe.

Meni se svidja i Juke,a ni ovo nije lose.Ipak,SX4 je po meni najbolja varijanta u ovom segmentu.

'zuki sigurno ima najbolji odnos dobijenog za ulozen novac, a i ako ne zelis da upadas u oci idealan je, tj Juke je nekako sminkerski.
Samo mi se cini da Juke ima osetno visi klirens od SX4 ili gresim?

Ja mislim da oba imaju isti klirens (175mm),mada uistinu Juke deluje kao da ima veci klirens od SX4.

The Belenos ELV2 originally presented in the summer of 2011 has just been added to our green vehicles directory that now offers more than 1050 models.

In Green GT’s achievements we also find the H2 unveiled a few days ago and the Windreich E that we have presented several times.

Neki podaci o SAAB-u i poslovanju u protekle dve godine.

The liquidators handling the bankruptcy of Saab announced today what the damage is 2 years of Victor Muller. And according to the curators nearly 1.5 billion, so no cat pee. Perhaps it was better (and cheaper) if GM was just the end of 2009 the light was turned off in Trollhättan.

According to the curators, the bankrupt Saab currently has a debt of about 12 to 13,000,000,000 Swedish Krona and if we convert to euros can we arrive at an amount of 1.36 billion to 1.48 billion euros. And that debt is primarily at suppliers, General Motors and the Swedish government.

Victor Muller has himself already said goodbye to the Saab adventure and focuses now back happily on the resuscitation of a comatose Spyker. It may sound harsh, but perhaps it was for all parties involved have been better if GM Saab had never sold, but simply had "lifted".

If General Motors had done, there was no fuss been about guarantees are no longer valid, because GM would guarantee to continue. Also, all creditors are paid properly and dealers would be compensated for the fact that Saab stopped. The new 9-5 would indeed never have entered the market, but now there are only 10,000 copies were built.

In the 2 years that Victor Muller was at the helm at Saab in total anyway only slightly more than 45,000 cars built. The reason why GM has sold the lot yet? That way, they did not have to worry about the "handling". GM knew that if she would clean the lot "deal" that would cost hundreds of millions of euros. If they would sell the lot to someone else and it would go bankrupt after it was no longer the concern of GM.

It is very simple: Find a weak partner who's so crazy to get everything to take over. Then wait until they can still go bankrupt and you're done. So bepaar you a lot of money (as being GM) and you still achieved your goal (Saab = death).

The trustees knew also have to mention that there are several parties interested in the remains of Saab. These parties would include Youngman, Mahindra & Mahindra and a Chinese-Japanese consortium. It seems to me strongly that GM will give permission to the current models to build again.

Ne znam da li postoji proizvodjac u svetu automobilizma koji je prolazio kroz toliko kriza,problema,brodoloma (nazoviete kako hocete) kao sto je to SAAB.Mozda,eventualno Jaguar i land Rover dok su imali dil sa Gm-om,mada verujem da su i oni prolazili kroz manje gubitke.

Da ne duzim dalje,sustina je da posle svega sto se sa SAAB-om izdesavalo,on ce definitivno nastaviti da postoji.

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, designer of the 911, dead at 76

The honorary chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG, Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, died on April 5, 2012 in Salzburg at the age of 76.

Matthias Müller, CEO of Porsche AG, paid respects by saying, "We mourn the death of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. As creator of the Porsche 911 he founded a design company in our culture that shapes our sports cars today. His philosophy of good design is for us a legacy that we will continue to do with honor."

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, nicknamed Butzi, was born December 11, 1935 in Stuttgart. He is the eldest son of Dorothea and Ferry Porsche and grandson of Ferdinand Porsche.

Known for his artistic talents, FA Porsche's greatest contribution to the world is the timeless design of the Porsche 901 - known today as the 911. Penned in 1963, the overall silhouette of the iconic 911 remains today, now in its sixth generation, as one of the most prolific sports cars of our time.

Other famous FA Porsche designs include the type 804 Formula 1 race car and the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS, which today is considered one of the most beautiful racing cars ever.

FA Porsche also founded the Porsche Design Studio in 1972.

Ford and PSA Peugeot-Citroën End Cooperation on Larger Diesel Engines

Twelve years and more than 20 million engines after the Ford Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën began jointly developing and producing two displacement families of diesel engines (1.4-litre to 1.6-litre, and 2.0-litre and above), the two companies announced today that they would stop making the larger powerplants.

Even though most will find it hard to believe, both carmakers said that the decision had nothing to do with the recent tie up between PSA Peugeot Citroën and GM.

"This decision has nothing whatsoever to do with GM," a Peugeot spokesman told Reuters. "It is not linked to the alliance plan."

Ford and PSA will each develop its own family of larger diesel engines with a displacement of 2.0-liters and above, but will continue to cooperate on the smaller units.

"This decision has no impact on the current production of the existing jointly-developed engines, or the derivatives planned for Euro 6 emissions legislation which comes into effect from 2014" the two automakers said in a joint statement.

Strong demand for Volkswagen Phaeton in China

High demand for the Volkswagen Phaeton in China has given new optimism for its successor.

On the market for 10 years, the Phaeton largely missed sales targets year after year, prompting the model to be cancelled in the U.S. after 2006.

However, that could all change as China has delivered a 50 percent increase in Phaeton sales in the past year. This accounts for Dresden producing 11,166 units, particularly fully loaded long wheel-base models equipped with V6 and V8 gasoline engines. Despite the improvement, it is still far behind the competition.

For the second generation successor due in 2015, the Phaeton will ride on the same MLP (modular longitudinal platform) as the Audi A8 and have design characteristics taken from the Cross Coupe concept.

We can also expect smaller engines with forced induction and cylinder deactivation technology. There's also word of a hybrid and plug-in hybrid variant, but nothing is official as of yet.
