What does the Highway Code provide for export abroad
The procedure for definitively exporting a vehicle outside the Italian border requires the holder or person entitled to go to the competent office of the Department for Transport, Navigation, General Affairs and Personnel and :
request cancellation from the national vehicle archive and from the PRA
hand over the license plate and the vehicle registration document
The condition for obtaining the authorization is that " the vehicle is in compliance with the inspection obligations or has been subjected, in the year in which the inspection obligation occurs, to a visit and test to ascertain its fitness pursuant to article 75, and that a single review provision pursuant to article 80, paragraph 7 is not pending ”.
Paragraph 7 of Article 80 refers to the request for a single revision in the event that the police, after an accident, may consider the damage to the vehicle very serious. In detail: “ In the event of a road accident in which motor vehicles or trailers have suffered serious damage as a result of which doubts may arise on the safety conditions for circulation, the traffic police bodies referred to in art. 12, paragraphs 1 and 2, intervening for the findings, are required to notify the competent office of the Department for land transport (18) for the adoption of the single revision measure. "
