Porsche za naredni period planira uvođenje u proizvodnju dosta jeftinijeg modela, čija bi početna cena trebala da startuj od 37.000 €. Projekat 551 će biti u formi roadstera i posedovaće četvorocilindrične agregate od 180, 210 i 240 KS.

Budući Renault Clio TCe imaće novi motor <- kompletan tekst na linku
Prema podacima proizvođača, ugradnja manjeg motora je ključ uspeha i budućnost nove generacije modela Clio TCe, jer motor od 899 kubnih centimetara zamenjuje trenutni motor 1.2 TCe. Renault navodi da ovaj motor razvija ukupno 90 konjskih snaga, pa čak i ako je to manje od 100 KS starog motora, novi motor će imati manju potrošnju goriva za čak 25 %.
Novi Clio TCe će biti ponuđen samo u verziji sa petoro vrata, dok će verzija sa troja vrata otići u istoriju, čak i u RS sportskoj verziji.

Nissan has managed to challenge Toyota for leadership in the midsize car segment. Only 9,000 sales separate the leading Camry from the 2012 Altima sedan in the first quarter sales charts for the US market. So it’s got the cash and the marketing power, but what is Nissan to do going forward.
One potentially unexploited segment is represented by sportscars. The Nissan GT-R does whatever it wants, since its among the fastest cars on the market, largely unchallenged. Meanwhile, the 370Z is routinely beaten by Mustangs and other sportscars models that are often cheaper.
But according to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Japanese automaker plans to strike back with a new entry level model, a rival to the newly launched Scion FR-S. Could this be a revival of the Silvia?
“I much prefer smaller sports car. It is the time to look at that. With 370Z, we still don’t know next generation will have a larger or smaller engine,” said Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s head of design.

Toyota druga sa 6,9 milijuna, Hyundai-Kia senzacionalno treći, ispred GM-a
Premda se kriza u Eurozoni širi, te se i u ovoj godini očekuje minus od pet posto, svjetska proizvodnja automobila u punom je zamahu. Sa 62.180.849 proizvedenih primjeraka u 2011. ostvaren je apsolutni rekord, najviše u 125-godišnjoj povijesti automobila. Kriza je, dakle, za velike prošlost. Prvo mjesto Volkswagena malo je koga iznenadilo, jer na prvom je mjestu bio već 2010. Tada je u ‘foto-finišu’ pretekao Toyotu, ali je s njom ostao gotovo izjednačen. A onda je koncern iz Wolfsburga ubacio u šestu brzinu, a nakon ljeta i sedmu… Toyotu je pogodila kataklizma tsunamija, a i posljedica negativne medijske kampanje na američkom tržištu. VW je porastao 12,8 posto, i dosegao 8.280.724 proizvedena primjerka, a Toyota je pala za šest posto, na 6.867.201. Odjednom se među njima javio jaz veći od 1,4 milijuna.

To znači da se japanska marka za duže razdoblje, ako ne zauvijek može pozdraviti s prvim mjestom. Tim više što nezaustavljivo nadire korejski Hyundai-Kia, koja je s porastom od 16,6 posto prema 2010. najbrže rastući brend na svjetskom tržištu. Sa 6.368.191 proizvedenim primjerkom koncern iz Seoula je zabilježio povijesni rezultat - došao je na treće mjesto, pretekavši General Motors, koji je prodao 6.312.649 auta. Za koncern iz Detroita utješno je što je ipak zabilježio rast od 3,3 posto. Peti je Renault-Nissan, sa 5.581.488 proizvedenih primjeraka i plusom od 5,4 posto. Neočekivano dobar posao napravio je Fiat kupovinom Chryslera - u prošloj je godini talijansko-američka koalicija proizvela četiri milijuna, a u prvom je kvartalu zabilježen plus od osam posto, premda su europske akcije Fiata u stagnaciji.

Toyota started production for the Yaris Hybrid, the first car already off the line for a French customer.
The company first announced production for the Yaris in September 2010 at its French manufacturing facility. Toyota Motor Manufacturing France is the first European facility which produces full hybrid vehicles for the B-segment. It is also one of five Toyota manufacturing facilities around the world certified as a sustainable facility.
TMMF has been the home of Yaris since 2001, reaching its 2.1 million Yaris milestone on April 1st, 2012. The production line for the Yaris Hybrid model saw some adjustments to the manufacturing process to accommodate the new transmission, braking systems, inverter mount and battery installation. The manufacturing facility and staff have gone through rigorous preparations for the launch of the new full hybrid model.
The Yaris Hybrid features a newly downsized Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system, which combines low fuel consumption, emissions and cost of ownership with uniquely relaxed and quiet driving. Za svoj sledeći projekat, nemačka tjuning kuća MR Car Design je izabrala Opel Insignia-ju OPC, koja ispod haube ima V6 turbo motor koji razvija 325KS.
Prva stvar koju ćete primetiti kod ovog automobila jeste da je veoma nizak iz razloga što sada ima novo visinski podesivo G-Ride vazdušno oslanjanje. Insignia OPC sada leži na novom setu 20-inčnih felni, na kojima se nalaze Hankook niskoprofilne gume visokih performansi. Takođe Nemačka tuning kuća je instalirala novi izduvni sistem, K&N filter vazduha i reprogramirala elektronsku kontrolnu jedinicu, pa sada 2.8-litarski tvin-turbo V6 motor umesto fabrčkih 325KS i 400Nm maksimalnog obrtnog momenta, razvija 370KS i 495Nm maksimalnog obrtnog momenta. Podaci o ubrzanju od 0 do 100km/h i o maksimalnoj brzini se ne pominju.

Lotus' new parent company, DRB-Hicom, could be looking at putting the brand into administration to free itself from approximately £200 ($317) million worth of debt.
While that's just one scenario on the table, Autocar is reporting DRB-Hicom is also considering selling Lotus to former Saab bidder Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile. This seems plausible since the company has been Lotus' Chinese importer since 2006.
On the other hand, the recent breakup between the Lotus F1 team and Group Lotus has fueled speculation that team's owner, Genii, is considering buying the automaker. When asked about that possibly, Genii's Gerard Lopez said "We don't know yet, because we really do not know what the new owner wants to do with it."

Even though Italy’s Nardo test track isn’t as famous as Germany’s Nurburgring, it is still an incredible place to test out the limits of a car. Porsche Engineering has announced it will be taking over responsibility of the impressive track starting in May.
Porsche announced the news today, stating that they will be further optimizing the Nardo’s facilities.
CEO of Porsche Engineering, Malte Radmann said, “with its rich array of facilities, from dynamic surfaces to acoustic and off-road sections coupled with the numerous workshops, our clients can continue to make extensive use of Nardò for their vehicle trials in the future as well.”
The Nardo test track features a 7.7 mile oval circuit and 3.9 mile handling circuit, which can be used to test a wide variety of driving and racing conditions. It also holds the distinction of being large enough to be seen from space (image below).
President and CEO of Porsche, Matthias Müller said “The Nardò proving ground with its high-speed and vehicle handling circuit ideally complements our facilities in Weissach.”
Porsche Engineering has more than 80 years of experience providing clients from the automotive sector advice from its Weissach test center in Germany. Now they can provide that same service year long in southern Italy as well.

Američki "AM General" moguć partner "Zastava kamiona"
Američka kompanija koja proizvodi vozila za potrebe američke vojske i inostranog tržišta "AM General" mogući je strateški partner kragujevačke fabrike privrednih vozila "Zastava kamioni", najavio je danas ambasador Srbije u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama Vladimir Petrović.
Petrović, čiji je rodni grad Kraguejvac, od danas zvanično učestvuje u kampanji "Izbor za bolji život-Boris Tadić" u Kragujevcu, saopštila je Demokratska stranka Kragujevca, najavljujući posetu Kragujevcu predstavnika te američke kompanije.
- Ta poseta trebalo bi da rezultira strateškim partnerstvom sa "Zastava kamionima" - izjavio je Petrović i dodao da je posetio tu fabriku i da je u razgovorima sa njenim predstavnicima dogovoreno da posete kragujevačku fabriku.
- Predstavnici "AM Genera" formiraće grupu koja će narednih sedmica doći u "Zastava kamione" i proceniti da li je moguće da ova fabrika postane strateški partner za prozivodnju američkih vojnih vozila koja bi bila isporučivana za ovaj deo jugoistočne Evrope i Bliskog istoka - izjavio je Petrović.

Naglasivši da će "dati pun diplomatski i lični angažman u dovođenju strateškog partnera 'Fabrici kamiona'", Petrović je rekao da "danas Kragujevac postaje grad automobila i to firme koja je vlasnik i američkog 'Krajslera', tako da je logično i da još jedna čisto američka firma uđe u Kragujevac".

Audi Buys Ducati to Add Luxury Motorbikes to Volkswagen Lineup
Volkswagen AG (VOW)’s Audi (NSU) will purchase Italian motorcycle maker Ducati Motor Holding SpA to add luxury two-wheelers ridden by celebrities such as Brad Pitt to the German automaker’s portfolio.
The Volkswagen and Audi supervisory boards approved the purchase today and aim to complete the transaction as quickly as possible, Audi said in a statement. The VW unit will pay owner Investindustrial SpA 860 million euros ($1.1 billion), including debt, for the Bologna, Italy-based company, a person familiar with the matter said yesterday. Today’s release had no price.
“Ducati is known worldwide as a premium brand among motorcycle manufacturers and has a long tradition of building sport motorcycles,” Audi Chief Executive Officer Rupert Stadler said in the statement. “It has great expertise in high- performance engines and lightweight construction.”
VW Chairman Ferdinand Piech, who turned 75 yesterday, has long coveted the brand. He publicly expressed interest in buying Ducati in April 2008 before eventually losing out to Investindustrial. The purchase will make Ducati the 11th brand in VW’s portfolio, alongside super-car marques Lamborghini and Bugatti and heavy-duty truck manufacturers Scania AB (SCVB) and MAN SE. (MAN)
“Ducati is a strong brand in a very specialized segment -- a bit like Lamborghini,” said Juergen Pieper, an analyst with Bankhaus Metzler in Frankfurt. “It’ll give Audi a bit of a marketing boost and it’s very profitable, but you still have to ask whether there’s not better use for $1 billion.”
The deal will also aid Audi in its competition with Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW), which makes BMW and Husqvarna motorcycles, as they vie for the lead in luxury vehicles.
Ducati Earnings
Ducati, which last year sold about 42,000 motorcycles such as the $28,000 Superbike 1199 Panigale S Tricolore, posted a 39 percent increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to 93 million euros in 2011, a person familiar with the financial figures said March 13. Revenue rose 20 percent to 480 million euros, giving it a profit margin of about 19 percent. Audi’s operating profit was the equivalent of 12.1 percent of sales in 2011.
Volkswagen last year sold 8.36 million vehicles, generating 159 billion euros in revenue. VW, which also plans to integrate the Porsche car brand, had net liquidity of 17 billion euros at the end of 2011, according to its annual report.
The Ducati deal marks an entry into the motorcycle business for VW and another asset in Italy after buying Lamborghini and Italdesign Giugiaro SpA. Piech has also expressed interest in the past in Fiat SpA (F)’s Alfa Romeo brand.
Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), India’s biggest motorcycle maker, had also expressed interest in Ducati after Milan-based Investindustrial made it known in February that it planned to sell the company.
Ducati, which was founded in 1926, sells the Superbike, Monster, Streetfighter, Hypermotard, Multistrada and the new Diavel models in 65 countries.
