Opel je najavio da će u narednih godinu dana predstaviti tri potpuno nove porodice benzinskih i dizel motora.
Za sada su saopšteni osnovni podaci samo o novom SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) ECOTEC 1,6 litarskom četvorocilindričnom turbo benzincu sa direktnim ubrizgavanjem i Start/Stop sistemom, koji će biti dostupan u više verzija, a najjača će raspolagati sa 200KS pri 4700 o/min. i 300 Nm obrtnog momenta pri 1700 o/min.
Najavljeno je da će se ovaj motor ugrađivati u više modela Opela i Vauxhalla, kao i to da se odlikuje za 13% manjom potrošnjom goriva i emisijom CO2 u odnosu na 1,6 litarski turbo benzinac koji zamenjuje.
Proizvodnja novog 1,6 litarskog turbo benzinca će početi krajem ove godine, i to u GM-ovoj Szentgotthardt fabrici u Mađarskoj.
Podaci o ostalim novim Opelovim motorima će biti saopšteni narednih meseci.

Peugeot unazad nekoliko godina ima ‘problema’ s dodjeljivanjem oznaka za svoje nove modele automobila. Svima je dobro znano kako Peugeot svoje modele označava brojkama i to ispočetka s tri znamenke s tradicionalnom ‘nulom’ u sredini (bilo je prije toga i modela koji nisu imali nulu u sredini), a prije nekoliko godina uvođenjem novih među modela pojavilo se i označavanje modela sa četiri znamenke od kojih su srednje dvije ‘nula’. S obzirom kako je Peugeot ‘potrošio’ slobodne kombinacije s ‘nulom u sredini’, a da se izbjegne ponavljanje što bi izazvalo totalnu zbrku, Peugeot je, pomalo u nedostatku vremena, donio konačnu odluku.
Marka ponovo uspostavlja politiku označavanja modela, s '0' u sredini, da bi odgovorila na očekivanja klijenata na svim destinacijama. U okviru svoje strategije internacionalizacije, Peugeot je odlučio da će potpuno novi modeli završavati s '1', dok će nasljednici svih modela koji završavaju s '8' zadržati isti naziv.
Davne 1929. godine, Peugeot je uspostavio sistem označavanja modela s tri broja, s nulom u sredini, s modelom 201*. Sistem označavanja Peugeot modela kroz povijest odvijao se na sljedeći način :
- nula u sredini odgovara identitetu marke Peugeot,
- prvi broj predstavlja veličinu vozila,
- zadnji broj predstavlja generaciju vozila.
Ovaj je sistem napredovao krajem 90-tih godina, kad su uvedena dupla slova za označavanje raznih silueta (CC i SW). Od 2005., obogaćen je dvostrukom nulom u sredini, koja označava modele visoke arhitekture, kao što su 3008 i 5008. Internacionalni razvoj potakao je Peugeot na ponovno uspostavljanje politike označavanja modela. Ubuduće, nasljednici postojećih Peugeot modela više neće mijenjati ime. Stabilizacija naziva pojednostavljuje prepoznatljivost Peugeotove game i pojednostavljuje njeno uspostavljanje.
'0' u sredini predstavlja genetski kod marke.

Napravljeni da odgovore na nova očekivanja klijenata, ovi novi modeli, dostupni i napredni, nadopunjavat će Peugeotovu ponudu modela koji završavaju s '8'.
Prateći primjer novog Peugeota 301, sistem označavanja sa zadnjim brojem '1' bit će potpuno isti kao i onih modela koji završavaju brojem '8'. Označavanje s 3 ili 4 znamenke, ovisno o konceptu vozila, s :
- prvim brojem koji će označavati segment vozila,
- 0 ili dvostrukom 0 koja identificira Peugeot u sredini,
- zadnji broj bit će '1' ili '8'.
Modeli na '1'
Sljedeći primjer 201*, koji se u svoje vrijeme odlikovao robusnošću i ekonomičnošću, modeli na '1' će predstavljati dostupne i napredne modele Peugeota, koji odgovaraju na očekivanja klijenata orijentiranih na praktičnost korištenja, polivalentnost i racionalnost, i ovi će modeli upotpuniti gamu na '8'.
Modeli na '8'
Nasljednici modela koji već nose broj '8', kao 308 ili 3008, zadržat će isto ime, a nasljednici modela ' generacije 7', nosit će zadnji broj '8'.

According to a spokesperson of Lancia ( who we spoke in Turin last week), the new Delta will be showed to the public early 2014. He mentioned that the development cycle should be complete within 24 months. The current model which dates from 2008 will then be replaced. The platform used is the Compact US Wide (CUSW), this gives room for different versions of the Delta. But these questions were not supported by the people of Lancia. So we have to wait before these secrets are revealed. We expect the new model to have two distinct versions. One shorter version which is more sporty and a version with a longer wheelbase (just as the current Delta). This should be a more luxurious and practical car. The choice for the name will be the same, even if the car will be mainly build in America. The new Delta will not only be important for Lancia also Chrysler will see this as a strategic product. The brand with the Pentastar uses this new model to create a good starting point in the compact segment. They will sell the car within the UK and US as well in a lot more country’s than Lancia is present. A name for the American Lancia is also known, ’100′. According to an American source , this model will be introduced during the second half of 2013.

Renault Plans to introduce New ‘Initiale Paris’ Brand
Carlos Tavares, Renault Chief Operating Officer, declared the company plans to introduce a high-end brand called Initiale Paris, in order to boost company’s sales.
For the brand’s development, Renault will search partnerships with other car makers. Although no particular company names were given, the current Renault-Daimler alliance will certainly be included. Renault also plans to re-launch its Alpine sports car models by the end of 2012, the two brands coming in addition to the existing Renault and Dacia low-cost models.
“If we don’t succeed in bringing Alpine back now, we will never succeed. We didn’t want a Renaultsport with an Alpine sticker. We wanted to do a proper race car”.
A leaked image of the new Alpine model has already spread all over the internet. The A110-50 concept, as it was dubbed, will mark the 50th anniversary of the very first Alpine A110. This future race car promises 400bhp and 419 N.m of torque offered by a 3.5 liter mid-mounted V6. The official unveiling for the new Renault Alpine A110-50 model is set to take place in a few days.

Owning Ferrari’s most recent entrant in the ring of supercars, the Enzo, is a dream for almost every car enthusiast. And who could blame them? Designed to resemble an Formula 1 car and developed with assistance from Michael Schumacher himself, the Enzo provides a thrilling driving experience that lives up to its pedigree.
Starting with a carbon fiber chassis, the Enzo is built up with more bits of lightweight carbon and aluminum to take its unique shape. A gratuitous amount of carbon fiber is found inside the cabin as well, where the driver can pilot the Enzo’s 650HP V12 mated to a 6-speed F1 gearbox all the way up to 218 MPH.
Making the car user-friendly for various driving conditions, the Enzo comes standard with stability and traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, ABS, and the ability to lift the front end to handle speedbumps and driveways. All of this brought the Enzo to a sticker price of $650,000 – but that’s not all you needed in order to own one.
Before we could even get in to the cost of ownership, if you wanted a new one Ferrari had to decide if you were worthy. Previous ownership of both an F40 and an F50 were a must, and depending on the dealership, a lengthy relationship with the brand helped your chances immensely.
Today, prices vary, but a well-kept low mile Enzo can fetch over one million dollars – and they’re out of warranty. An oil change on the car will run about $1,400 with parts and labor, but with the additional “services” and fluid checks recommended by Ferrari this experience could cost in the neighborhood of $9,000.
With labor, a new clutch assembly is $6,000, which doesn’t seem so bad compared to the $40,000 price tag for a full brake job.Insurance is variable on a number of factors, but expect to pay upwards of $6,000 annually, and that’s if the majority of your other assets are insured with the same company.
While it’s not in territory of the Bugatti Veyron’s cost of ownership, the Enzo is certainly not a cheap car to maintain if you intend to drive it… but who would really expect Ferrari’s most expensive road car to be affordable in any way?

BMW's i sub-brand is reaching a tipping point and the automaker is reportedly considering contingency plans should sales fail to materialize.
According to Automobile Magazine, a number of external factors - including the lack of a recharging infrastructure and austerity moves in Europe (which could result in less EV/hybrid tax credits) - are causing the company to second guess their goal of selling 100,000 i3s and 10,000 i8s annually. Despite the obstacles, BMW is reportedly committed to launching the models because it would cost "billions" to abandon the projects right now. While that's good news for fans of eco-friendly vehicles, the i1 and i5 are rumored to be on ice.
Regardless of what happens, BMW is undoubtedly watching sales of the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf and Fisker Karma. These models have all received praise, but have lost some of their momentum after being launched.

Ford Mustang: will be landing on the European market?
Does Ford have plans to import the Mustang in Europe? Not officially, as Ford Europe think that currently our market is not yet ready to welcome the arrival of the next-generation of the great American muscle car. But given the positive customer response towards new models introduced on the European market, the Blue Oval is considering the opportunity to import the Mustang in the future.
Autocar has reported that Ford has kicked off a campaign to gauge the public reaction to the Mustang. If the muscle car lands in Europe, an engine downsizing could prove necessary. The engines of the Mustang are specially designed for the American market, but due to high consumption and operating costs are not at all convenient for European consumers. The news of a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine replacing the current V6 under the hood of the next-generation of Ford Mustang further strengthens this hypothesis.
Another solution could be to raise the target customers by improving the construction quality of the car while keeping the American engines, and to aim to an audience who’s more inclined to buy powerful vehicles. Currently the Mustang European market is supported by a growing number of enthusiasts who import cars directly from the U.S. The possible arrival of the Mustang in Europe would represent an opportunity to expand Ford’s market in order to gain a significant market share in a segment yet unexplored at European level.

Zhongsheng Group Holdings Ltd has acquired a 70 percent stake in Carlsson Autotechnik GmbH.
The group, which operates a number of automotive dealerships in China, wants to use Carlsson to help distinguish their cars from similar models sold by other dealerships. According to Zhongsheng chairman Huang Yi, "The problem is there are so many Mercedes, BMW and Audi cars in Shanghai and Beijing that those cars sometimes feel like mainstream cars - like driving a Camry in Los Angeles."
Zhongsheng says they have "aggressive plans" for the tuning firm which include building a number of Mercedes-Carlsson dealerships and setting up production facilities, in China, to build accessories for the brands - Mercedes, Lexus, Volvo, Porsche, Toyota and Nissan - that Zhongsheng sells.

Italy has some of Europe’s highest gasoline prices, with the liter going for approximately €1.83. This translates, hold on to your wallet, to $8.54 for the gallon. Italy is also the country of steep sales drops. The Italian new car market contracted by 18 percent last April. Fiat is Italy’s biggest carmaker and sustains even bigger losses.
Where others see a disaster, Fiat sees an opportunity. It wants to ignite flagging sales with cheap gas.
Fiat is expected to unveil a marketing offer Italian that lowers the price of gasoline to one Euro per liter – with purchase of a Fiat, Reuters says. Details of the offer are unclear. Reuters heard that “the offer will be based on a calculation of the motorist’s potential mileage, with effects that can last for up to three years.”
Expect the offer to come with reams of fine print. Most likely, a straight cash discount will be converted into gas coupons, pay now, save later style. The offer is doomed to fail.

Ferrari has a nice assignment dragged in 'father' Fiat. Because they get a budget of 50 million the next 2 years that they have to use a high-end engine to develop the premium luxury brands from the Fiat group. Ferrari will also build a new production line to produce this engine family.
What exactly this engine will be used is not yet confirmed, but rumors are talking about a V6 with twin turbochargers that would provide up to 450 hp. Representing an ideal engine to use in the new Maserati Kubang / Cinqueporte, Maserati Levante (model under Quattroporte) and perhaps also the successor to the Alfa Romeo 166 (if that ever comes) and of course the Alfa Romeo Giulia (159-successor ).
This engine may also have a luxury Fiat / Chrysler can, but do not count on that Fiat will come with this engine. It is obvious that the V6 will be based on an existing engine, because 50 million is not a very high budget for developing a new engine.
Ferrari / Fiat would be 2 roads to take. They can choose to Chrysler Pentastar V6 with a sauce or Italian Ferrari uses their own "Ferrari / Maserati engine." The V8 and V12 engines Maserati, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo to use because all belong to the same family.
