O novom.
Two engines for the new Patriot were developed by Zavolzhsky motor plant (ZMZ) together with the German engineering company FEV. The base will be a 2.5-liter atmospheric engine with a capacity of 145 HP (240 N·m). The turbocharged 2.3-liter engine will receive two variants: 150 HP (330 N·m) and 170 HP (350 N·m). Both units will be able to run on both gasoline and gas.
The SUV will also receive a Ford TDCi 2.2 turbodiesel from the Transit van. Production of the engine will be set up at the idle Ford Sollers engine plant in Elabuga, where previously produced 1.6-liter gasoline atmospheres for the Fiesta and Focus.
The engines will be paired with the six-speed "mechanics" of the Chinese concern BAIC or with the French "automatic" Punch Powerglide 6L50 for six gears, which is installed on the current Patriot. All-wheel drive - with a hard-wired front axle, a step-down and locking rear differential.
Also, the UAZ Patriot will receive a new frame with thicker spars and additional crossbars. To improve safety, an energy-absorbing deformable module will appear in the front of the load-bearing structure. The front suspension will become independent, while the rear axle will remain uncut. The springs will be installed in a circle: it is decided to abandon the rear springs.
The SUV will be replaced with new body panels, except for the doors and roof. In this case, the trunk lid with the spare wheel will still open to the right. In the cabin, the new front panel will display buttons for various heating systems and the control unit for all-wheel drive transmission modes. Among the options will be fully led optics, an electric handbrake, all-round cameras, a blind spot monitoring system and a built-in video recorder.
Earlier, the Executive Director of Ulyanovsk automobile plant Alexey Spirin said that serial production of the new Patriot will begin in the second half of 2021. Later, a van will be built on the basis of the SUV, as well as two - and four-door pickups.
